The Master Chicken List, Categorized

Here lie all the roast chicken recipes in cookbooks in my possession or on my regular blog list as of like the beginning of March 2018. I’m a little surprised there isn’t more balance among sources. I don’t feel like I own a lot of narrow-focus cookbooks, so I would expect something as everyday as roast chicken to show up more. Are there really only two roast chicken recipes in the entirety of The Silver Spoon? On the other hand, if I had waited another week to generate this list, how many dozens more roast chicken recipes would Food52 have published? Regardless, the task ahead is clear. I shall roast and carve and dare I say spatchcock my way through this list until my goal is achieved or I stop caring or I forgot once too often or I develop a profound yet unspeakable hatred for chicken, whichever comes first.
